During the 14 years that Siop Cwlwm has been trading, we have established a dedicated department that provides services to education related groups and organisations, such as, schools, colleges, churches, chapels and playgroups. Our dedicated department provides many tangible benefits to these groups and to the Educators working within these groups, these include:
Educational experience and expertise
Two thirds of our staff were previously trained teachers or teaching assistants for many years, this provides hands on expertise and experience. Through all education levels, from pre-school stage to adults learning Welsh, we can offer a free advisory service, helping you to find the correct resources and books to suit the needs of your learners and libraries.
Our expertise includes ELSAs (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant), and we can help schools to support the emotional needs of their pupils with suitable Welsh books and resources on various topics, including:
- Social Skills
- Bereavement
- Social Situations
- Therapeutic Stories
- Anger Management
- Self-esteem
- Real-life problem-solving skills
- Friendship.
Free, quick and efficient delivery
We will supply your orders quickly and efficiently. If we are unable to deliver your order personally, we will use efficient couriers including Royal Mail, Parcelforce and DPD. Dependant on the size of your order and your location, we may be able to offer discounted or free delivery to schools and similar groups, please contact us prior to placing your order to discuss this item further.
Educational discount
Orders from educational related groups often qualify for a 10% discount (as well as free delivery, as mentioned above). Again, please contact us prior to placing your order to discuss this item further.
Pay via invoice
We are very familiar with the payment processes that education related groups and organisations have and very accustomed in dealing with customers finance / accounts departments, such as Local Authorities for schools. If you contact us prior to ordering, we can create an invoice, which will be payable 30 days after your delivery is delivered, or tailor our process to suit your procedures. We can also accept payment in a variety of other ways, e.g. cash, cheque, card, BACS transfer, PayPal, Clearpay.
Events
We are passionate about attending book fairs and other educational related events. To support your budgets, commission can be paid to your organisation, based on the number of books sold, as credit to be spent at Siop Cwlwm (in Oswestry or online). We can arrange author visits, and events – fairs, visits, World Book Day. Or alternatively your staff, pupils, students can visit our shop and help our team ‘hand pick’ their order.
Prizes
If you need school prizes, such as for the end of term, the School Eisteddfod or Christmas, please get in touch as we will be able to assist. Book tokens and gift cards are available, and we have many books for children under £5.
Loyalty scheme
Clwb Cwlwm is our loyalty scheme, which offers members one point for every £1 spent, both in our Oswestry shop and our online shop, this is a 5% return on spend. Orders from educational related groups are welcome to join Clwb Cwlwm, and this is a great way to increase the value of your orders.
Wishlists
Provide a list of resources and books that you require for your group or organisation and with your personalised Wishlist, parents, grandparents and everyone else will be able to order them via our website, at our shop in Oswestry, and over the phone. With our educational expertise and experience we are able to help and advise on the development of your Wishlist.
Donations
We appreciate that many groups and organisations have limited budgets. To support these budgets we work with groups and organisations like yours so people can donate towards your Wishlist. We offer donations in increments of £5 or £10 as standard (these can be altered if other amounts will work better for you). As an additional bonus, 10% of the total amount donated will be added by Siop Cwlwm.
