Lovely gift idea

A thoughtful Welsh book for birthdays and special occasions.

The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don't expect to see at the door is a big furry, stripy tiger! A Welsh adaptation of The Tiger who came to tea by Roger Boore. Reprint. First published in 1998.

This classic story is reprinted here in Welsh, with the original English text at the foot of the page in a slightly smaller font. To the young child, the simple story of the tiger knocking at the door and coming in to have tea with a little girl and her mother is exciting and credible, whereas it appeals to the adult’s sense of humour, if a little absurd. Once the hungry tiger has eaten every last crumb in the house, and drunk the water tank dry, the family go to a café for tea. The book’s appeal is wide – both girls and boys, and from small children to new readers.
