John David Jones - A Biography

This is the biography of one well-loved Welshman from the Tanat Valley.  In World War Two he was whisked away from his village, into the RAF, and before he knew it taken by boat past Cape Town towards its destination of Batavia near Jakarta on the island of Java, then part of the Dutch East Indies.  They reached Batavia on February 4, 1942, where they camped in barracks called 'Bicycle Camp'.

On release he took up his real life as a bricklayer, painter, musician ad all-round Welshman, beloved of his friends and neighbours, and a man renowned of his generous love of other people - he even forgave 'the Japs'.  Three relatives and two close friends have collaborated to write this moving tribute.  It is compelling reading - because it is true.
